Brothers Of Fire

Honey, dim the lights. I had... It was a tough day.
Office pencil pushers lost us another big client.
It's so hard to maintain.
I don't mean to take these things out on you or the kid.
Sometimes my anger gets the best of me. And your tendency
to push. I need the reprieve of our home of our own.
Help me. This isn't all we
hoped and dreamed it would be.
Immortality isn't all we
thought it was cracked up to be.
And it's still early.
We will lose our family, our friends, our child.
It get's worse. We'll watch the collapse.
Absorbed by our star
and float forever in the void of space,
even after the stars turn off.
Business success. Existential escape.
Curse the genie. Fuck.

These walls transcend the danger and the slog of simply surviving.
An absolute testament to the human element.
If we could write these songs or words on walls of our own,
not as data, or as data,
for the extraterestrials or
post humans to find, and experience these things second hand again.
This time spent. These marks made. They wept when they found it.
Protected and slept for decorated walls
as sentinals. Human works for religious moments.
They wept when they found it.
Sentinals.

Over The Jasper Wall

By time, we live in lockdown.
Some sort of multi-directionalentropy.
In time, we'll meet in the middle. And we'll embrace
what we do, or do not, hope to be (or were).
No, we aren't terrestrial bound.
Chaos. Like a fungal phospherescence
encroaching on my mind's jaundiced eye.
A miasmatic apparition of ourself.
Can we, like, bro down with beers?
Dry, lichenous tendrils as
time and memory betwixt.
A solipsistic escape.
And over the jasper wall. Again.
